Our History

Inview Imaging is a physician-owned radiology practice with origins in the San Francisco Bay Area dating back to 1969 when Dr. Tom H. Piatt opened an outpatient imaging center in Orinda, California. Tom launched a second location in Oakland in the 1970s and over the next several decades built a legacy as an innovative and community-oriented radiologist, serving as team physician for the Miramonte High School football team, providing x-rays for the Oakland Raiders and Golden State Warriors, and performing some of the first mammograms in the Bay Area in the 1980s.

Dr. Brad Piatt, Tom’s son and a third-generation radiologist, joined the practice in 1989, expanding the services offered to include MRI, CT, ultrasound, bone densitometry and interventional procedures. The Orinda and Oakland facilities served families for nearly four decades, becoming trusted community resources for affordable imaging services.

In 2010, Brad Piatt acquired Inview Imaging in Fremont and in 2011 opened a third Inview facility in Lafayette. Today, Inview has six Bay Area imaging center locations as well as imaging partnerships with organizations throughout California and is now providing services to the grandchildren of some of Dr. Tom Piatt’s first patients. Inview Imaging remains committed to providing access to high quality and affordable radiology services to every member of the community.
