March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month!

March is quickly approaching us and each year, InView Imaging is dedicated to spreading the word on National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. We are even offering a special discount price for the month of March (see below for pricing).
Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers in the U.S. and regular screening is very important. If left untreated and the cancer is allowed to metastasize (spread to other parts of the body), the survival rate decreases to 10%.
More importantly, colon cancer can be preventive by early detection. Starting at age 50, men and women who are at average risk should be screened.
Important Points to Remember:
- Colorectal cancer can be prevented.
- Screening for colorectal cancer can identify polyps that can be removed to prevent cancer from ever developing.
- You should begin colorectal cancer screening at age 50 unless you have an increased risk for the disease.
- Colorectal cancer is treatable.
- Know the risk factors, symptoms and your family history of colorectal cancer.
- Talk with your health professional about colorectal cancer and your own risk for the disease.
Faster and far more comfortable exams…
We understand that most patients dislike the idea of a colonoscopy screening, and that is why we offer a much less invasive procedure called Virtual Colonoscopy (VC). VC is a far more comfortable exam for patients who fear, and have been putting off a colon screening exam.
A recent American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN) trial showed that VC is at least as sensitive as conventional colonoscopy.
Virtual Colonoscopy is performed by scanning the patient in CT, only 15 minutes of actual table time!
VC requires no sedation so patients are able to return to work immediately following the exam. No need to take an entire day off of work.
