InView Imaging, Fremont’s premier medical diagnostic facility, is pleased to announce that we now offer advanced breast imaging services. Our advanced breast imaging services fulfill a need that has not been met in the Fremont community as well as the greater bay area in the detection and diagnosing of breast cancer.

In addition, our state-of-the-art facility gives physicians the ability to access their patient’s images through a secure online picture archiving portal. Physicians will have access to diagnostic quality images from work or home and be able to view the same images while consulting with our radiologists.
Breast ultrasonography is used as an adjunct to mammography to distinguish if a lump or mass is solid tissue or if it is simply a fluid-filled cyst. Use of ultrasonography allows our physicians to avoid recommending surgical procedures unnecessarily. Ultrasonography is performed by the radiologist only when it is needed to help make a diagnosis.
(At this time, InView Imaging does NOT provide mammography services)
• Lobular cancer
• Occult breast cancer
• Close or positive surgical margins
• Post-operative scar vs. tumor recurrence
• High-risk screening: breast cancer gene carriers (BRCA 1 or 2 mutations); prior treatment for lymphoma
• Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy or brachytherapy
• Suspected multiple or bilateral cancer
• Implants and known or suspected cancer
• Problematic mammogram
Breast MRI Advantages
• Higher sensitivity than mammography (overall 90-98%)
• Better contrast
• Images entire breast, chest wall & axilla
• Good for dense breasts (class 3 or 4)
• No radiation and associated risks
• No painful compression
• Converts some lumpectomy patients to mastectomy
MRI-guided breast biopsy is most appropriate for high-risk patients and those with discordant findings. MRI is utilized to localize the abnormality if not seen via mammography or ultrasound.
“ 70% of all patients graded on the overall pain of the entire procedure, including the injection of the local anesthetic, graded the pain as mild (score 1-3 out of 10)”
Features and Benefits
True 9 and 12 gauge disposable needle options
First and only system offering petite needle for small breasted women
Automatic tissue collection in a closed system, limiting fluid exposure
Up to 16 tissue samples in 1 minute
Ability to biopsy patients with multiple lesions in a single Gadolinium injection session
Saline lavage flushes out the biopsy cavity, enhancing visibility on post-biopsy images and ensuring clinical confidence and accurate sampling.
The length of the procedure is typically 30 minutes
A patent pending Y-Valve that continuously delivers pain medication during the biopsy procedure, reducing patient anxiety and interruptions.
The ability for InView Imaging to offer 3D Imaging technology in conjunction with breast MRI and advanced breast biopsy allows us to increase efficiencies in order to be able to offer faster, safer and more accurate breast imaging procedures.
Utilizing CADstream by Confirma, Inc. we are able to enhance breast MRI to provide higher quality imaging studies, time and cost savings, and improved communication tools for radiologists, surgeons, oncologists and patients. CADstream’s automated processing of MRI studies helps standardize the way studies are analyzed and reported, enhancing efficiency in women’s imaging program. It automatically detects and removes cardiac artifact, image registration to correct for patient movement, subtraction images, multiplanar reformats, Angiogenesis Maps and curves, MIPs and volume summaries. CADstream automatically creates lesion (volume) characterizations with 3D renderings and data calculations for each lesion within the study.
